Across the fleet, Carnival hires dancers and singers who dance for production shows, a wide range of musicians (rockband vocalists, keys, guitar, bass, drums, trumpet, trombone, sax, plus piano bar entertainers, guitar soloists, country, Latin and mainstream duos), activity and sports hosts (the Fun Squad), youth and camp staff, DJs, comedy and variety acts, and technicians across audio, lighting, video, automation and backstage.
Most Carnival calls are pre-registration invited calls: you submit an application first, and if you look like a fit they email you an invitation with the location and time. That means applying early matters more than showing up on the day. Musicians are given prepared audition material in advance and should bring their instrument, accessories and a song list. Note that Carnival does not cover travel or lodging for audition attendees, so apply for cities within reach.
Have a current reel and headshot ready to attach the moment a call opens. Be precise about your skills and doubles, since casting filters on those exact terms. For host and youth roles, energy and microphone comfort carry real weight, and relevant certifications help. Apply well before the audition date rather than at the deadline.
